Grey is the most flexible suit colour after navy, and the shade decides the job it does. Charcoal is the formal end. It carries an interview, a funeral and an evening wedding, and it is the closest thing to black without the harshness that black brings. Light grey and silver are daytime suits, and they belong at a race day or a summer wedding far more than behind a desk. The mistake people make is buying one grey suit and expecting it to do both. It will not. Pick the shade for the occasion you actually attend most.
