Men's Funeral Suits

A funeral is the one occasion where the suit should not be noticed at all, and that makes the choice simpler than most. Plain, dark and well fitted. Black is the traditional answer and never wrong. Charcoal and the darkest navies are equally acceptable at most modern funerals and are considerably more useful afterwards, which matters if you are buying rather than reaching into the wardrobe. Avoid pattern, avoid sheen, and keep the shirt white and the tie plain and dark. If the family has asked for a colour, follow that instead: the request always outranks the convention.
